Kantha is one of the oldest forms of embroidery, originated in the Bengali subcontinent (West Bengal, Orissa, and Bangladesh). Kantha predominantly consists of a simple running stitch and can be found in a variety of garments and furnishing fabrics, from sarees to bedsheets.
